Foxtail Farmstead Highland Breeding Stock Selection 

     We select only the top 1/2 of  our Highland heifer calves & 1 bull calf annually to be registered and used as breeding stock . 

     The rest of the calves are used in our beef program or sold to be raised for beef and pasture ornaments.  This past year (2010) we had 24 calves.  

     We select  breeding stock based on reproductive reliability, ability to raise a qualify calf every year, and conformation.  Growth rate and frame size is always an important consideration but we do not breed for any type of extremes.  We cull ruthlessly to obtain quality udders, teats and, feet.

Highland Cattle for Sale

2010 Spring calves - A limited number of calves selected for our beef program are available.  An excellent choice if you want to raise your own beef.  

Yearling Highlands - Sold Out A limited number of yearlings are available to complete the growing out stage and finish for freezer beef.  This is an excellent choice  if you want beef sooner than raising a calf.

Highlands make excellent freezer beef for your family.  Many will also make elegant pasture ornaments.

Prices for these Highlands are priced per pound live weight.

Weaned calves - $1.25 

Yearlings - $1.00
